C-Roads platform launched at the kick-off-meeting in Brussels
The C-Roads Platform is in place to establish C-ITS services in a harmonised way all over Europe, with AustriaTech in a leading role as coordinator of the platform.
As a clear sign of strong support, European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, together with INEA Director Dirk Beckers and representatives of the C-Roads pilots signed a special C-Roads poster to reinforce the EU's commitment to supporting ITS as one of the chief solutions to making the road transport sector safer, greener and more efficient. Helge Molin signed in the name of the Federal Ministry for Transport and Innovation.
The agreement, which marks the official launch of the C-Roads platform, was signed by representatives of the current eight member states (Austria, Belgium / Flanders, Czech Republic, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Slovenia and UK), with the invitation of others to follow. In Austria, ASFINAG is responsible for the deployment of the services from the C-Roads pilot, the duration of the project is five years.
